Jane King:
Positioning the RIA model is very easy because it's something that the clients want. It's wonderful. It's both the hardest thing I've ever done and the best thing I've ever done. But the model of being a fiduciary and charging a fee and sitting on the same side of the table as the clients is what the clients want. It's the 21st century model in my opinion. The RIA model is a much more collaborative one. We talk to our clients, question them, make sure we understand their goals, their concerns, their tolerance for risk, and together we come up with a plan.
Caroline King Hedges:
From my perspective, I feel the RIA model is much more adaptable and manageable depending on market climates. It's much more controlled and you know that the person you're speaking to oversees everything.
