IAN MUIR: At Schwab, the security of your clients' data and assets is always our top priority. Part of the way we protect your firms and clients involves continuously evaluating trends and evolving our approach to security protocols to stay ahead of criminals. We're implementing several enhancements designed to further strengthen our platform security and safety controls.
One of the areas we're really going to focus on is data security related to third party vendors. We know that it's very important to many firms' operations to be able to share Schwab data securely. For example, you may share your data with a broker-dealer or a data management provider. In order to ensure that exactly the right providers are able to access your firm's Schwab data and that any providers you are not currently working with have their access disconnected in a timely fashion, we're instituting a new annual review requirement.
Once per year, we will contact your firm and ask you to review and verify the current data sharing settings you've chosen. And to make that process as easy as possible, we're developing a dedicated data sharing page on Schwab Advisor Center, where you'll be able to review the third parties who currently have access and make any adjustments quickly and easily.
While we're requiring at least an annual review, you can use the tool to review these permissions as often as you like, and we encourage you to incorporate a periodic data sharing review into your firm's broader cybersecurity plan.
We thank you for working with us to maintain our high security standards and to help ensure we continue to safeguard critical account information and assets into the future. Thank you for your business and your commitment to your clients' data and asset strategy.
