SPEAKER: Thank you everyone for joining Early Access. The form will have access to the Move Money Import Transaction tool. I will walk you through the Import Transactions experience within Move Money.
So the first starting point for you to access this tool is to login to Schwab Advisor Center and click the Move Money tab. As soon as you click the Move Money tab, you will get to the Move Money landing page and you will see the Import Transactions link right on the top right corner of the Move Money page. So this link is always accessible to you even if you select an account number here and get to the Account Status view or the Master Status view within Move Money, then the link would be accessible there, as well. Once you click this Import Transactions link, you will be directed to the Import Transactions page that will guide you through the import transaction process.
So the first step to import transaction process is uploading the CSV file, but even before uploading a CSV file, the most important step is to create a CSV file. We give you a CSV template that you can download from this page, so when you click this CSV template link on the page, then it will download a CSV file on your laptop or machine, and then once you click on that CSV file, you will see a file like this. So you will see the From Account Number, the To Account Number, Amount, and Process Date. These fields are required for all types of journal accounts and then you will see the Distribution Reason and IRA Contribution Type that only apply if you are transacting from an IRA account to an IRA account.
So let's look at an example CSV file. This file as you see has all the Account Numbers, the Amount, Process Date, Distribution Reason is blank for the non-IRA account and has a code for the IRA account, the IRA Contribution Type has a value. We give you a list of all the supported distribution codes, as well as the contribution types in the user guide that will be linked to your email invite. As you can see that these From Account and the To Account Numbers are masked here. This is an example file and we have masked these account numbers for security reasons, but when you enter the account numbers, they will be eight-digit account numbers.
So let's look at the data requirements for the CSV template. As you can see that the From Account Number and the To Account Number is an eight-digit account number. So you must…you have to make sure that these account numbers are eight digits. You can include a hyphen after four digit if you have them… if you enter like this in your system. So we do allow for hyphens after four digits. The amount must have a dollar sign and we allow two decimal places for the Amount. The Process Date would be an MMDDYYYY format. So you will have to enter the date in that format as well. For Process Date, you can enter the current date. And we also allow future-dated transactions from this tool, so you can also have a future Process Date for the Process Date column. And then we give you a list of all the Distribution Reasons, as I mentioned, and the Contribution Types in the user guide linked to your email invite. But for entering the Distribution Reason in the CSV template file, you just need to enter the code by looking up the right entries in that guide, and then, similarly, for the IRA Contribution Type, you will enter the appropriate value for the current year or the last previous year in the IRA Contribution Type column.
So once you are done with adding all the transactions to your CSV file, then you will come back to the Import Transactions screen, and then you will click the Browse button. This is a file upload window and this will give you a file upload widget to upload a CSV file. So once you click that, we will take in that CSV file and process all the transactions you have added to the file. That may take a couple of minutes, so you will have to wait on the screen and we will show you the progress right here as we are validating the transactions. Once we are done validating the transactions, then you will be directed to the Review and Submit tabs, so you can review all the entered transactions in the CSV files on this page. We will flag any errors associated with the uploaded transactions on this page, so you will be able to view all the error, erroneous transaction, and view the exact error message associated with that transaction on the transaction row, itself. We will give you an opportunity to delete all the errors before you proceed with submission. You must delete all the erroneous transaction in order to proceed with submission. So once you are done deleting with those transactions, then you will… you can review all the other transactions that are in good to go state, and then submit… click the Submit button to submit the transactions for processing.
Once you click the Submit button, then we take in all the transactions that you want to submit and then we start processing those transactions. We give you an opportunity to download those submitted transactions. So please click on this Download Transactions button, so that, you know, you… it will download a CSV file with all the submitted transactions and you will have a copy for your record that way. And then if you want to follow up on these transaction and view the status for the submitted transaction, then you can filter by individual account numbers for those transactions and view the status in the Account Status view or the Master Status view within Move Money.
And thank you, everyone, for your participation in the Early Access program. Your feedback is important to us and it will help us make this tool much better. Thank you for your time.
