The financial services industry is in a period of exciting growth and change. Many advisors are focused on finding ways to grow and scale their practices. Technology is probably the single most powerful tool in helping you to not only increase your efficiency, but also enhance your client service.
As a custodian, one of the fundamental ways we serve you and your clients is our technology platform. That's why it's so important that we provide you with capabilities that can help you drive scale and make it easy for your clients to do what they need to do, wherever and whenever it's convenient for them. Some of our first generation of electronic tools essentially created a digital version the paper experience. While certainly this has advantages over paper, it isn't as easy and efficient as many of you had expected.
Ultimately, our goal is to create a truly digital experience for all transactions, one that's easy for both advisors and clients to use every day. You'll see this transition happen over the next few years, beginning with some of the most common transactions and tools you work with every day. So whether a client wants to open an account, or change their address, the experience is fast, easy, and best of all—secure!
Moving from paper to digital is a big change and a learning process for all. To make it easier, it can be helpful to start in one just area and build on that success. When I talk to advisors about electronic approval for Move Money, they get really excited—it's a very simple, intuitive process for clients to be able to click and be done. We've recently expanded this feature to checks and journals, so you can handle your clients' most frequent and important transactions. These tools are the fastest, most convenient, and secure way to manage these transactions, allowing your clients to approve them on their mobile devices within seconds. That's why it's a great place to start. We have a number of resources to help you evaluate which features may work best for your firm, along with training tools and resources to help you and your clients learn how to use them. You can visit the What's New page in the upper right header of Schwab Advisor Center where you can find resources such as our Technology Action Plan, and the Move Money Quick-Start Guide. There are also videos to preview the experience. Finally, check in with your service team.
