Top five 2024 Schwab tech updates

In 2024 you told us that every second counts, and we spent the year investing in our platform to help you make the most of your time. Which of the key updates we launched in 2024 were the ones you told us you need the most? Here's the list:

  1. Move money. We launched a slew of key updates that you told us you needed, including the ability to designate lots when transferring positions between Schwab accounts, edit your clients' tax withholding elections, and initiate internal transfers for aggregate margin accounts.
  2. Digital onboarding. We expanded the digital onboarding workflow with new capabilities, including opening charitable accounts, adding TAMP access to open Marketplace managed accounts, and creating custom document types and viewing your clients' edits.
  3. ACH workflows. We removed the waiting period when you set up a new ACH profile on Schwab Advisor Center, so you can request an ACH transfer the same day the profile is approved.
  4. Account overview dashboard. We launched an account overview dashboard on Schwab Advisor Center to make it easier to see and act on client account data, including balances, positions, and other key information.
  5. iRebal®. We announced that Schwab's adaptable portfolio management and rebalancing tool is now available at no cost to all firms that custody assets with Schwab.

Access RIAConnect and network online with firms and talent

Now all firms that custody assets with Schwab can access RIAConnect, our online community that enables you to network and initiate conversations with other firms and job seekers to help you reach your business goals.

You are invited to join the platform, create a profile, and begin connecting with other firms with complementary goals, as well as with individuals seeking an internship or a career in the RIA industry. Whether you are interested in succession planning, merging, selling, acquiring, sharing ideas, or finding great talent, this online community and matching tool will connect you quickly and at no cost.

Before any Schwab Advisor Center user can access RIAConnect, your firm's security administrator must first add them to one of the following security groups, depending on the type of access needed:

  • All Access: This level provides access to all functionality on the site, including mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, talent searches, and other networking options.
  • Talent Only: This level gives the user access to only the talent search function.

Once you have been added to either group, visit advisorservices.schwab.com/riaconnect to access the tool.
